Agreement to these terms

We are Harris Taylor, trading as Harris Taylor Web Design, a sole trader based in Edinburgh ('we', 'us', 'our').

We run the website harristaylor.co.uk, and we design, build, host and look after websites for businesses, along with the workflows that run on them.

These terms apply when you use this website or our services. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

You can contact us through the form at /contact/ or by email at enquiries@harristaylor.co.uk.

  1. How we work

    1. The build fee is agreed before work starts and invoiced by bank transfer once the site is finished and you are happy with it.
    2. The monthly plan starts when the site goes live and is collected by Direct Debit through GoCardless.
    3. There is no minimum term and no notice period. Cancel any time.
    4. Your domain, branding, content and photos are yours. The site itself is built and hosted by us and you subscribe to it.
    5. If you cancel, the site comes offline and your domain, content and photos go with you.
    6. Workflows can be added or removed at any time.
    7. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
  2. Intellectual property

Your domain, branding, content and photos stay yours. The site we build for you, including its design and code, belongs to us, and you can use it for as long as you subscribe.

Everything on this website, including its text, design, code and logo, belongs to us. You are welcome to read it and share links to it, but you may not copy it or use it commercially without our written permission.

  3. Prohibited activities

When you use this website or our services, you agree not to:

    1. scrape it or access it by automated means
    2. interfere with the site or the services behind it
    3. misuse the forms or the assistant
    4. copy the site's code
  4. Third-party links

This website links to other websites, such as sites we have built. We are not responsible for their content, and these terms do not apply to them.

  5. Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

  6. Modifications and interruptions

We may change or remove content on this website at any time. We work to keep this website and the sites we host available, but we cannot promise they will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or an outage at a provider we rely on.

  7. Disclaimer

This website and our services are provided as they are and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about them beyond those in these terms.

  8. Limitation of liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit, revenue or data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the six months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

  9. Resolving disagreements

If a disagreement arises, we will both first try to resolve it informally. Either of us can start this by writing to the other, and we will allow at least 30 days before taking it further.

  10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law, and the courts of Edinburgh have jurisdiction over any dispute.

  11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change affects your plan, we will tell you before it takes effect.
